The Consumer Affairs Victoria office produces excellent handbooks guiding you through your tenancy rights. You are covered by the residential tenancies' provisions of the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) 1997 because BSA only offers fixed-term tenancy agreement. This means that the rights and responsibilities that apply to tenants in private rental will apply to you. BSA does not fall entirely into the category definition of a rooming house. However certain rights and responsibilities will also apply to you.
